The Sierra Designs Canada / Black Water Designs (BWD) GreenPrint mission is to reduce the footprint we leave on the planet earth; to practice and promote a harmonious relationship between our business world and the outdoor world.
To us, it's about living and working in ways that don't jeopardize the future of our social, economic and natural resources.

Our Home
- Our employees receive subsidies for transit passes, car pooling & buying Hybrid vehicles
- We strive to print on recycled paper and minimize packaging
- Our product hang tags are printed on recycled material
- We recycle glass, paper, plastic, magazines and more in our office
- Our warehouse reuses and recycles shipping cartons
- We turn down the temperature on the thermostat at the end of every day
- We never leave the lights on
Our Products
- DAC Poles offer the most environmentally friendly anodizing process
- Cocona fabric is produced from a natural, coconut husk by-product
- Moda Woven shirts are made of natural beechwood chips
- Our Polartec recycled fleece is made from recycled pop and water bottles
- We are using Bemis PVC-free tape on our waterproof jackets beginning in Fall 2007 - this means a lot to the people in the factories producing it - the harmful carcinogenic materials have been taken out, therefore reducing health risks or hazards
- Our Drizone waterproof/breathable Peak Bagger Jacket and Pants along with our Omni and Answer Jacket for Fall 2007 have a solvent-free membrane
- Spring/Summer 2008 brings more green enhancements to our products
